WASHINGTON, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- China-U.S. relations are at "a very critical moment" and the two countries have to "make the right choices" for the long-term interests of the two peoples and of the world, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Cui Tiankai has said.
"The U.S. has frequently abused state power to wantonly suppress non-American firms under the pretext of national security. This is blatant bullying behavior, which China firmly opposes," the spokesperson said, noting relevant U.S. moves have drawn criticism and doubts from many people within the United States and the international community.
What they want is to revive McCarthyism in an attempt to undermine U.S. relations with China, stoke hostility between the two peoples, and erode trust between the two countries, Wang said.
BEIJING, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- China's top securities regulator said Saturday that resolving issues of common concern through dialogue is the only way to achieve win-win results, when responding to a recent U.S. report released by the President's Working Group on Financial Markets.
"Wang Yi emphasized that, saying China is willing to restart mechanisms for dialogue with the United States at any level, in any area and at any time. And that is precisely what the Chinese government has done," said Castrillon, who specializes in U.S. and Chinese affairs.
China remains one of the top three destinations for 63 percent of respondents in a survey conducted earlier this year by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and global consultancy firm Roland Berger. Enditem
"China's role in opening up to global economy through many initiatives, including its BRI, contributes a lot to the trend of global trade flows given its very potential production and consumption hubs," Sorasak said.
"Resolving issues of common concern through dialogue is the only way to achieve win-win results," said the CSRC. "Only by doing so can a sound environment for the healthy and orderly operation of the global capital market be created."
It is neither necessary nor possible for the two sides to change each other, Wang stressed. "Instead, we should respect the choice independently made by the people of the other side."
Some American politicians who are biased against and hostile to China are using their power to smear China with fabrications and impede normal ties with China under various pretexts, Wang told Xinhua in an exclusive interview.
"The choices we're making today will shape not only relations between our two great countries, but also the future of the world. So we have to make the right choices. We have to base ourselves on the long-term interests of our two peoples and of the world," he said.
